Glowing snow caused by landscape lighting

Snowscapes and Glowing Snow

Two totally different pictures today and both fun to take. One is a classic snowscape and the other is a more interesting play with lighting and glowing snow.

The first landscape photo is a gorgeous view from the back of the house- the snow covered mountains on our first sunny day post storm. The clear skies and rippling ridges are just breathtaking. You can imagine that we never tire of that view, snow covered or not, but the snow adds a particular beauty to it.

Glowing snow caused by landscape lighting

The second scene just caught my eye – glowing snow. The snow is so deep that all of my landscape lighting is buried. After digging out the front sidewalk with the snowblower, the scene was even more dramatic as both the “wall” and the “ceiling” of snow glowed from each of the lights. Just one of those great random moments of light to be captured.

Hope you enjoy.
