Before and After The Storm

Before And After The Storm: A Timelapse

To celebrate the rain quenching our extreme drought conditions, I created Before and After The Storm: A Timelapse photography.

Western North Carolina and the surrounding region has been suffering from extreme drought conditions for quite a while. Most notably, the horrific Gatlinburg fire raced through that scenic town destroying scores of homes and businesses and taking 14 lives. Though the media coverage has died down, the fires continue to burn.

Over a dozen wildfires continue to burn here in Western North Carolina, but over four inches of rain have fallen in the last two weeks, giving firefighters some much needed assistance in corralling the blazes.

I captured a series of photographs of the storm clouds rolling in, the rain falling hard, and the clearing post-storm. Those images have been assembled in the following timelapse. Hope you enjoy it.

That was amazing footage. I so love your view especially when you can see the mountains. I had to laugh when I saw some of the herd in the video. It looked like someone was doing their security duty lol. I love your work. You are very talented. Thank you for sharing.
