Yesterday evening provided one of Mother Nature’s brilliant portraits – a moonrise in a purple and pink sky colored by the setting sun behind me.
Stepping out to the back porch, the brilliant hues provided by Mother Nature caught my attention. The setting sun behind me turned the eastern sky into a brilliant pink hue. The high clouds reflected the sun’s rays in a deep purple. Through the midst of all of that color, the full moon arose in a brilliant point of light.
The first photograph, taken with a wide angle lens, captures the breadth of the view. The color changes from the green leaves of the trees at the end of our field to the shadow darkened mountains on the horizon. And the sky goes from the bright pink to the dark purple high clouds.
The second photo uses a slight zoom to capture just the moon and sky.
Gorgeous! I hope you are able to capture the strawberry moon tonight :).
