Looking down through the meadows.

Snowy Meadows at the Ranch

We finally are having some real wintry weather, so took an opportunity to take some pictures of some snowy meadows of the ranch next door.

The main ranch road

And how did this opportunity happen? To get to our house, you have to drive through the middle of this ranch. So the road you see in the picture above is the road home. Ok, fair enough, that view is actually looking away from the house.

The snowy meadows on either side of the ranch road.

That ranch road also leads to the ski area that is next door to us (and next door to the ranch). The road crews stopped us at this point because they had a technical problem – a beer truck had completed its delivery to the ski lodge and slid off the road as it was exiting. They were towing it out when we arrived, so they asked us to wait a few minutes to give them room to work. Funny how my opportunity was someone else’s problem.

You will also notice the lack of horses in the pictures. The equine take a winter vacation and leave the mountain. They will be back in the spring leaving just the fields, the snow, and some brutal winds.

Home is just out of view of this last picture, so we were so close and ready to get to the house.

Home is just out of sight of this picture - and we made it as soon as the road was cleared.

P.S. – The driver and truck were fine. We can safely attest that no beer was harmed in the making of this post.

You do know how to take advantage of a good photo shoot. Looks so serene. So happy about the beer. Would’ve been a ski lodge crisis. 😉
