A pair of brutal criminals, the Blackwell Brothers, escaped arrest after committing murder, but they left a witness alive, fourteen-year-old Jace Wilson. They need to eliminate him and will kill anyone who gets in their way.

To protect Jace, he’s given a new identity and inserted into a wilderness skills program for troubled teens. Only a few people know he’s deep in the wilderness of Montana, including the adult leaders, Ethan and Allison Serbin.

When the Blackwell Brothers appear, Jace disappears into the mountains and enlists the aid of a ranger managing a fire lookout tower, Hannah Faber, who is battling her own demons. Together they must evade the Blackwells, a raging wildfire, and the treachery of Mother Nature.
