New Year Dawn – Opportunities Before Us

Funny thing about plans – they are often affected by what you can not control. Take the simple concept of sharing the New Year Dawn as symbolic of the opportunities of 2017.

My plan of capturing the first sunrise of the year and sharing it as my first public photograph of 2017 was thwarted by Mother Nature giving us a New Year Day dawn of fog, clouds and rain. The sunrise was not even visible, much less photographic.

What to do? Simple – share the last dawn of 2016! The photograph above was taken on New Year’s Eve, not New Year’s Day.

And that is my simple plan for 2017. Whatever curve balls will be thrown (and there will be plenty), I want to find the opportunity presented and take advantage.
