Storm Brewing

Man’s best plans can be so easily diverted. Never is that more true than when a photographer sets up and Mother Nature starts a storm brewing.

My goal was very simple – capture a photograph of the sun setting over Soco Gap through a mix of the puffy clouds that had been around all afternoon. Nature had a different plan, however, and worked to conceal the sun behind gathering storm clouds. My back up plan was not simply to put the camera gear into the car for protection. Since the windows were all out of the Jeep the car was not going to offer much protection. This is the last photo I took before scampering off to the house.
